About the artist

Oh, Christopher

singer/songwriter

According to Chris Owens, the hallmark of a good songwriter is the ability to pen lyrics in which listeners can see and feel themselves, and in this upcoming album he has captured that talent exactly. Evoking emotion and painting a vivid and relatable story, each tune Chris delivers feels like home. The material for this debut album has been evolving over the past two years, and most people in Chris’s life have deemed this project “long overdue.”

Chris has been singing and playing guitar for over half his life and in a variety of genres. From the rock band he co-founded in the early 2000s to the Celtic band he fronted for nearly a decade, Chris knows exactly how to create an ideal listening experience for the audience. His music is influenced by musical genres spanning the globe, and particularly the troubadours of past and present times. A native of Patrick County, Virginia, Owens has had the opportunity to perform alongside many talented local musicians as well as world-class acts.

This album is a collection of writing from the past two years. These songs reflect my healing and acceptance, my coming to terms with what I want to be as a songwriter. The album deals with that vulnerability and honesty, allowing me to be as authentic as possible about how I'm trying to process and heal my past - everything from relationships to loss and death to politics - how I’ve seen the world in my time on Earth.
